how do you form and use the near future tense?

Use the present tense form of aller in front of the infinitive of a verb to form the near future tense. EG:

I am going to have a shower = Je vais prendre une douche.

This can be used for describing things that you are going to do in the immediate future (similar to how we would use it in english)
