How do I ensure that I am addressing all the Assessment Objectives within my essays?

Firstly, going over the objectives in order to ensure you clearly understand what is being asked of you is important. It is very helpful to look at example responses that have done well and identify the ways in which each of the specific AO's have been incorporated. When writing your response, it is useful to follow a clear paragraph structure as guidance – such as P.E.E. - and to make sure that you constantly refer back to the question and objectives so that you know your points are specifically addressing them. It is important to be concise, so once you have listed the points you wish to include in your debate, you should also note key quotations and technical terminology (associated with language, structure or form) that you will be using to support your points. Based on contextual research you have done relating to your texts or genre, you should also be able to find some context and also criticism that could be included throughout your essay. This should be seamlessly integrated into the essay in a way that shows that it is being used as evidence that helps to support your argument and answer the question directly, therefore should not be used excessively. The focus should be upon establishing clear, well supported points and your use of quotations, terminology, context and criticism should be used in a way that supplements and strengthens your argument, instead of deviating from it.
