How can I get a better mark from writing task?

A very good way to improve your writing score is to incorporate words called ‘speech connectors’ into your writing. Using them not only help to make your work well organised and coherent, but also show that you know more sophisticated vocabulary and more elaborate structures. The linking words will also enhance the flow of the text and usually are highly appreciated by markers.

Here are some examples:

sin embargo - however, respecto a - regarding, puesto que - given that, por lo tanto - therefore, por el contrario- on the contrary, por ejemplo- for instance, por consiguiente - therefore, en otras palabras- in other words, en contraste- in contrast, en consecuencia- consequently, en conclusión- in conclusion, en cambio- on the other hand.

Next time you do a piece of writing try to incorporate some of these into your work. If you have any questions or you would like someone to check your work, book a tuition with me.
