Explain the concept of natural selection. Give an example.

Natural selection is a theory that became popular after Charles Darwin work and states that traits of living organisms are selected according to their ability to adapt to the environment. It implies that every organism has a wide variability of genetic traits that can change with time according to the environment. The process occurs through generations and the selection occurs over the phenotype (expressed characteristic of the individuals).
