How do I write a personal statement that will demonstrate my passion for my subject?

You can write a personal statement is several difference ways, but I would argue that the best ones are those which demonstrate your passion for the subject which you applying for. Why do you want to do the subject? Don't just tell them you are passionate or that you love it. Of course you do, and so does everyone else who is applying for your course (or at least they will say they do!) So how do you make yourself different from the crowd? You have to demonstrate your passion for the subject, you have to go and read books and more importantly you have to tell the applications officers what you thought about the books. If your are really keen you will go to public lectures, enter essay competitions, or watch lectures on you tube or itunes you. The whole point being that you want to immerse yourself in your subject - after all this is what you will be doing at university! By going the extra mile you demonstrate potential to the universities, and this is exactly what the universities are looking for. Which, or course, means they will offer you places or interview you.
