The first thing we have to do is to is pick out the co-efficients ax^2+bx+c=0 a=2, b=-5, c=-6 Now we can pug these numbers into the quadratic formula x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/2a x=(5±√(25-42-6))/4 x=(5±√(25+48))/4 x=(5±√73)/4 x=3.386,-0.886 (3dps)
