How do you create the future tense of a russian verb?

This depends on whether your verb is imperfective or perfective. IMPERFECTIVE FUTURE For imperfective verbs, the future tense can be constructed, just like in English, by using the correct form of "быть" (to be), depending on the subject of the sentence + the Infinitive of the verb. Future tense created from the imperfective aspect is called a compound form, and is used to demonstrate that the Action will be ongoing or multiple times. E.g. она будет читать

  • she will read (more than once) OR
  • she will be reading

PERFECTIVE FUTURE Using a perfective verb, however, demonstrates that the Action will be completed or will take place only once. This is formed by simply conjugating the required verb according to the subject of the sentence. E.g. Она прочитает

  • she will read (once) OR
  • she will have read
