How much work experience is enough when applying to medical school?

Applying to medical school can be a draining and long experience which begins much earlier than any other university subject application. Because an interview is required for every university you have applied for, they will expect to hear about relevant experience you have gained. However, the important thing to remember tis that you will not be questioned on how much experience you have had but on what you have learned from these experiences and why it has reinforced your decision to pursue a career in medicine. This means that even though you may have only had 2 months of regular volunteering at a hospice and two weeks of shadowing a consultant, this may be enough so long as you are able to articulate how it has helped you and really go into depth when answering questions.
