What should I write about in my personal statement?

Your personal statement should, first and foremost, be about you. It has to be personal. You should discuss two areas when writing your personal statement, the first being your interest in the subject and your second being the extra-curricular activities you do that enhance you as a person and as a student. These should be weighted 2/3 of the 2000 characters to your interest and extra (out of school) reading, the aspects of your subject that you enjoy and possibly the job you may be considering after university. The final third of the essay should be about your extra-curriculars, volunteering, jobs, sports teams or interests that make you look like a well-rounded person. The most important thing to remember is make it about you, and make it relevant to your desired subject.
