How do I put a verb into the future tense?

To put French verbs into the future there are special endings. The good news is they're quite straightforward. For regular verbs you need to take the infinitive, which will end in either -ER, -RE, or -IR, and then you add the endings (although if it's -RE you'll have to take the 'E' off before you add the endings. These are the endings (with the verb 'jouer' as an example): je jouer-ai tu jouer-as il/elle jouer-a nous jouer-ons vous jouer-ez ils/elles jouer-ont. Many irregular verbs change their stem for the future tense (and don't just use the infinitive), but we'll cover those later.
