MIC question, 'what are the strengths and limitations of using structured interview technique'

This question will require a couple of points for either side, showing a balanced answer. It is often better to interweave a strength an then a limitation and so on. One possible strength is that answers will be standardised as a structured interview will be closed-ended questions. This means that results can be easily gathered and be able to draw scientific and logical patterns. However, using pre-coded closed-ended questions limits flexibility in participants answers and may mean some possible insightful answers are missed.Therefore, this may only be useful for straight forward information or study Further strengths can include lack of ethical consideration compared to other methods and practical strengths. Other weaknesses could include validity as it does not allow for peoples real feelings to be heard.
