Natural Sciences

Cambridge

500+ lessons

Hi, my name is Amelia, I am studying for a Masters and have recently completed a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, specialising in Genetics. I really enjoy tutoring and have been gaining experience tutoring different age groups for over five years. I tutor Maths, Biology and Chemistry from Common Entrance to A level. I am excited to take on some new students and to impart the enthusiasm I have for the biological sciences; I often find it effective to relate a certain scientific concept to its current application in the wider field. I think that academic confidence is one of the most important outcomes of tutoring, especially in the sciences, and I intend to build my student’s confidence by establishing a deep understanding of each topic. By understanding the purpose behind a calculation or a process, it is easier to apply a similar logic in an unfamiliar situation, as required by the exam. I also specialise in tutoring over the summer. In my experience, students that undertake tutoring over the summer start their academic year with a heightened interest in their subject and the confidence to engage fully in lessons. Please feel free to drop me a message and we can arrange a chat.

Hey I'm Teb! I've chosen to study Psychology and Neuroscience at University of Bristol as I feel like this degree combines my love for understanding the how and why of human behavior. I believe that I will enable students to improve as I am passionate about teaching the subjects I loved studying and GCSE and A level and the aspects of them I continued to study at degree level. Also, I would consider myself to be a very caring and empathetic person that would help my tutees reach their full potential. My lessons are tailored to my students needs and hopefully this makes them achieve the best grades possible.

Biomedical Science

Sheffield

I am a friendly Biomedical Science student passionate about helping students reach their potential. The nature of my degree has also allowed me to develop how I learn and revise. I have picked up different revision techniques I plan to use when teaching different students. In my lessons, I aim to tailor lesson plans that are personalised to each individual. I will work with the students to help simplify anything they find difficult and then use interactive activities to help them thoroughly remember the content. I will also use exam questions frequently to test their understanding in a low-stress environment. Through questioning, I can regularly assess the student’s progress and give feedback to advance their learning. My degree has also given me a greater appreciation for science and learning, and I hope to instil this in my students. As someone who has been tutored before, I understand how important it is to cultivate a supportive environment where students can increase their confidence and progress at their own pace. I look forward to helping students in achieving their academic goals!

Applied Anatomy

Bristol

200+ lessons

Hello, my name is Nathan. I graduated from the University of Bristol and studied Applied Anatomy, and I have ambitions to pursue a medical career. I love tutoring mathematics and science as they are subjects I deeply understand. Solving problems can give you a great sense of achievement and self-confidence. Having recently completed A levels, I understand students' pressures and difficulties. I really take pride in tailoring the lessons to the pupil's needs, ensuring that content is covered at a pace that suits them. Some lessons may focus on the theory needed to answer questions. Other lessons aim to perfect exam technique by attempting past paper questions. I will guide the pupils through the stages of learning, constantly asking questions to ensure they have grasped what is being taught. In contrast, I welcome questions being asked as this indicates that the pupils are enthusiastic and curious about their learning. I believe a firm understanding of theory combined with a solid exam technique enhances exam performance.
