A rectangle has length 3x+6 and width 2x-5. The perimeter of the rectangle is 22cm. What is the value of x?

The perimeter of the rectangle can be found using 3x+6+3x+6+2x-5+2x-5=10x+2We know from the question the perimeter equals 22cm.10x+2=22We can subtract 2 from both sides10x=20Divide through by 10 and we get x=2cm
