How do I differentiate something of the form a^x?

You should write ax as (elna)x = exlna . ln(a) is a constant, so use the chain rule to differentiate this: lna(exlna) = lna(ax)

Bhavin, Max and Imran share 6000 rupees in the ratios 2 : 3 : 7. Imran then gives 3/5 of his share of the money to Bhavin. What percentage of the 6000 rupees does Bhavin now have? Give your answer correct to the nearest whole number.

2 + 3 + 7 = 12

6000/12 = 500

7 x 500 = 3500

(3/5) x (3500) = 2100

2100 + 2(500) = 2100 + 1000 = 3100

(3100/6000) x 100 = 52%.
