What is the meaning of having a 3 by 3 matrix with determinent 0. Both geometrically and algebriaclly.

The matrix is singular.

No inverse matrix.

Geometrically: No unique point of intersection of planes, Either no common point, a line of intersection or the three planes coincide.

Alegebriacally: No unique solution either no solution or infinetly many solutions.

A particle is launched from the top of a cliff of height 87.5m at time t=0 with initial velocity 14m/s at 30 deg above the horizontal, Calculate: a) maximum height reached above bottom of cliff; b)horizontal distance travelled before hitting the ground.

By use of matrices uniquely solve the following system of equations, justifying each step of the calculation: 3x-7y=6, 5y-2x=-3.

How do I find the square root of a complex number?

The finite region bounded by the x-axis, the curve with equation y = 2e^2x , the y-axis and the line x = 1 is rotated through one complete revolution about the x-axis to form a uniform solid. Show that the volume of the solid is 2π(e^2 – 1)
