Find the values of x that satisfy the following inequality 3x – 7 > 3 – x

Recall: We treat inequality in a similar manner to the equal sign.

The steps are:

1. Collect like terms

2. Simplify

3x – 7 > 3 – x

step 1 : 3x + x > 3+7

step 2: 4x > 10

4x/4 > 10/4

x > 2.5

Find two values of k, such that the line y = kx + 2 is tangent to the curve y = x^2 + 4x + 3

Curves C1 and C2 have equations y= ln(4x-7)+18 and y= a(x^2 +b)^1/2 respectively, where a and b are positive constants. The point P lies on both curves and has x-coordinate 2. It is given that the gradient of C1 at P is equal to the gradient of C2 at P.
